Awarded the highest level of the Towns and Villages in Bloom label, the town takes care of its living environment: parks, green spaces, biodiversity and ecological management.

Towns and Villages in Bloom

What is the “Towns and Villages in Bloom” label?

Created more than 60 years ago, the Towns and Villages in Bloom label rewards towns that commit to a more pleasant and sustainable living environment. Far from being limited to flower beds, it now values an overall approach: greening public spaces, preserving natural resources, protecting biodiversity and adapting to climate change.

The rating runs from 1 to 4 Flowers, the 4th Flower being the highest level. In 2025, nearly 4,700 towns held the label in France, of which about 310 had the “4 Flowers”. The supreme distinction, the Fleur d'Or, is awarded each year to a handful of exemplary “4 Flowers” towns.
